"On cut-to-length and slitting lines which work with stationary and rotary knives state-of-the-art grinding techniques ensure the required plane parallelism and obtain a low surface roughness. This minimizes dusting and improves a smooth workflow. Sheeter knives made of tool steel, high-speed steel (HSS), tungsten carbide and PM steel can be manufactured up to lengths of 4,500 mm.
The special grinding processes are tailored to the material being cut and can be carried out in the following ways:
- swing-frame grinding, suitable for standard knives and HSS knives
- lapping, suitable for all hard metals
- abrasive belt grinding (micro-finish), provides dust-free cutting and maximum service life
- hollow grinding (microtome cutting), for cutting high-volume materials
